Mayor Ashley Swearengin, will be honored at the Fifth Annual MS Dinner of Champions, sponsored by and benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society San Joaquin Valley office.  The gala event will take place on Sept. 22 at Pardini’s Catering & Banquets in Fresno. Each year, the annual event recognizes a community leader and raises funds that support the National MS Society’s vital programs and services for the more than 2,400 living with MS in the San Joaquin Valley — along with national MS research to find a cure for this chronic disease of the central nervous system.

Fresno’s HealthCare California home health agency announced that Angelica Perez-Duran has been appointed as a licensed vocational nurse.

BANKING & FINANCE

Omar Ortiz has been named vice president, branch manager of the Central Valley Community Bank Caldwell office in Visalia, located at 2245 W. Caldwell Avenue. Ortiz brings more than 13 years of banking, human resources, management, customer service and business development experience to CVCB. Kelly Anderson has also been promoted to vice president, real estate collateral risk manager in the credit administration department. Anderson joined Central Valley Community Bank in 2012, most recently serving as an assistant vice president, appraisal flood supervisor, and has over 12 years of banking experience.

Big Valley Mortgage in Fresno has announced the hire of two new loan officers. Jeff Chacon has 13 years of experience in both the real estate and mortgage lending industry, as both a loan officer and a Realtor. Jessica Mejia is a Fresno Pacific University graduate with a degree in business management.
