Fresno-based law firm Dowling Aaron found a partner with Fennemore Craig out of Phoenix, Arizona, creating a presence of 350 lawyers and legal aides across four states.

Shareholders for the two firms approved the merger effective Oct. 1. What was once the third-biggest firm in the Central Valley will become Fennemore Craig Dowling Aaron, according to a news release.

Dowling Aaron has four offices in California, including Fresno, Visalia, Sacramento and Bakersfield. Fennemore Craig has offices in Phoenix; Denver; Las Vegas; Reno, Nevada; Tuscon, Arizona; and Nogales, Arizona.

Dowling Aaron merged with Saqui Law Firm in Sacramento in 2019.

James Goodnow, Fennemore Craig’s CEO, will remain chief executive of the firm, while Dowling Aaron President Leigh Burnside with join the firm’s management committee. Richard Aaron, partner with Dowling Aaron, will move into a senior position with the combined firm and committees.

“This strategic combination offers our clients access to a national platform and deeper bench across the transactional and business litigation spectrum. With this combination, there’s virtually no matter we can’t handle,” Aaron said in the release.
