Fresno State Athletics has announced a full turf replacement at Valley Children’s Stadium ahead of the 2025 season.

The new turf will be AstroTurf’s Pro Woven Series 3DM60 with RootZone Technology. According to a news release, the next-generation woven turf minimizes fiber loss and maintenance while delivering consistent performance in all weather conditions.

“Fresno State has always been a proud partner of AstroTurf,” said AstroTurf general manager and Bulldog Foundation member Dominick Berarducci in a news release. “We’re thrilled to bring the most advanced woven turf system in the nation to Valley Children’s Stadium and to support the Bulldogs with a surface that reflects the same grit and excellence they bring to the field every day.”

Fresno State will be the only NCAA Division I school playing on this turf system.

“Delivering a first-class game day experience for our student-athletes and fans starts with the field under our feet,” said Fresno State Director of Athletics Garrett Klassy in the news release. “This new turf reflects where we’re headed—not just as a football program, but as a department committed to excellence, innovation, and progress.”

The iconic “Green V,” honoring the San Joaquin Valley, will move from the 25-yard lines to the end zones. Moving the “Green V” aligns with updated NCAA rules allowing on-field corporate logos, creating new revenue opportunities to benefit student-athletes.

“We remain fiercely committed to representing the Valley,” Klassy said. “This update isn’t about taking something away—it’s about finding every possible way to bring resources back into our program. With the evolving landscape of college athletics, we have a responsibility to maximize every revenue stream available to us so we can continue to invest in our student-athletes, facilities, and the future of Bulldog Athletics.”

Instillation will begin at the end of the month and continue throughout the offseason.
