The world’s largest hot dog chain celebrated the grand opening of its new Porterville restaurant on Saturday, bringing its American comfort food to the Tulare County town for the first time.
Located at 1034 W. Olive Ave., the newly constructed restaurant is the first endeavor for owner Adel Joudi. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening with free chili dogs, ice cream cones and Wienerschnitzel swag for guests throughout the day.
The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m to 10 p.m. daily, and features a drive-thru, open from 9 a.m. to midnight, extending access to hungry guests.
Wienerschnitzel’s high-quality American comfort food will feature chili cheese dogs, junkyard dogs and chili cheese fries, as well as the brand’s Southern lemonades.
Founded in 1961 with a single hot dog stand, Wienerschnitzel has grown from humble beginnings in Wilmington, California to the world’s largest hot dog chain, serving more than 120 million hot dogs annually.
Wienerschnitzel also partners with charitable organizations, led by its mission of “Serving Food to Serve Others.” The company is now based in Irvine as Galardi Group Inc., operating nearly 350 Wienerschnitzel restaurants in ten states.
