Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. has announced the appointment of a new general manager for its Fresno television station following the departure of the previous one late last year.

According to a new release by Sinclair, Matthew Morse has been appointed to the position, putting him in charge of the area’s KMPH (Fox) and KFRE (CW) stations.

“We’re thrilled to be promoting Matt to general manager of our Fresno stations, where he has headed up the sales teams since 2013,” said Rob Weisbord, president of Sinclair’s Local News and Marketing division. “He brings nearly 20 years of broadcast sales experience across California and are confident that his deep roots in Fresno, history with the company and strong background in sales and marketing will make an extremely capable leader.”

Morse started at KMPH/KFRE in 2013, and his most recent position has been as general sales manager. Before that, he had 12 years of experience in various sales and management positions, primarily in Southern California and the West Coast.

Morse is stepping in for his predecessor Jack Peck. According to his LinkedIn page, Peck served with Sinclair starting in 2009, before being appointed president and general manager of broadcasting company Ellis Communications, LLC in Newport Beach in November 2019.
