Preparations for a new Burlington Coat Factory in North Fresno are underway, with signage for the store going up Monday, Dec. 29 at its future home in River Park Shopping Center.

Signage for the new store, along with a “coming soon” display marks the former Buy Buy Baby store, which closed in 2023 as part of its parent company’s nationwide liquidation of storefronts.

The store will be located at 7458 N. Blackstone Ave., inside River Park, between Marshall’s and A-Z Home Medical Equipment, and will replace the store’s current location at 5630 N. Blackstone, which opened in 1997.

Despite lacking a concrete opening date, a representative from Burlington said that staff at the current location had been notified of the relocation over a year ago, but only just recently noted the signage appearing at River Park.

A confirmed grand opening date for the new location has not been announced; messages left with Burlington’s media team were left unanswered as of the time of this report.

Burlington celebrated the grand opening of another store earlier this year, with its new location at 4895 E. Cesar Chavez Blvd. The store was the 114th California location and was part of the company’s overall growth strategy.
