A local moving business is giving Central Valley residents an opportunity to help the wildfire victims in the Los Angeles area.

Meathead Movers, the largest independently owned moving company in California, announced a donation drive across its Central and Southern California locations. It plans to accept gifts of essential supplies that will we be distributed in disaster relief kits through Operation USA, an international disaster relief organization.

The San Luis Obispo-based Meathead Moves has done dozens of donations drives promoted with the hashtag #FillThoseTrucks for natural disasters and humanitarian crises in the past, according to a news release.

“When we watched the destruction of the wildfires unfold, we knew what we needed to do, “said Aaron Steed, CEO of Meathead Movers. “Past clients and brand supporters have reached out, eager to contribute because they trust Meathead Movers will make a difference. Giving back is not just what we do; it defines who we are. We are so much more than a moving company, and together with our community, we can make a difference.”

 Operation USA provided a list of critically needed items that must be unopened with an expiration date of 12-plus months past today. These include:

  • Toothbrushes

  • Toothpaste

  • Shampoo
  •  
  • Body wash
  •  
  • Soap
  •  
  • Hand towels
  •  
  • Baby Wipes
  •  
  • Bottled water
  •  

Donations we be accepted through the weekend with a Monday, Jan. 13.

All donated goods can be dropped off in the lobby of Meathead Movers locations across Central and Southern California (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily).
