That figure is lower than the more than $20 million owed by local taxpayers the last time the list was published in December 2015.

The 500 California businesses and individuals on the latest list owe a combined $449.1 million, according to the Board of Equalization.

Those on the list could have driver’s and other professional licenses suspended until they pay the amount owed or enter into a payment plan with the BOE.

Once again, the local taxpayer with the largest debt on the list is Fresno-based Central Valley Food Services Inc., doing business as Jack-in-the-Box, owing $3.05 million.
