The California Restaurant Association’s Fresno Chapter will host the 2015 Best of the Valley Restaurant Awards March 7.

The event is open to the public and will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton in Downtown Fresno.

The ceremony was founded in 1992 and this year, more than 2,500 restaurateurs in Fresno and Madera counties will have an opportunity to vote on awards in more than 30 categories. The event will also feature the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. John Harris of Harris Farms and Harris Ranch & Inn.

The Harris family has been farming for over 100 years and the Fresno County farm has been under continuous family operation since 1937. Harris Farms has grown into one of the largest agribusinesses in the nation and is California’s largest cattle feeding operation.

The farm originally grew cotton and grain, but now boasts a wide variety of vegetables, fruits and nut crops.

Under the direction of John Harris, the family has developed a strong following for its beef label and brand.

Ticket information for the awards event is available on the chapter’s website
