IHOP is celebrating its 60th anniversary with National Pancake Day next week, giving away pancakes and helping children’s hospitals across the country, including Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.

The goal of the restaurant chain is to raise $5 million by offering complimentary short stacks of their pancakes. In exchange, guests are asked to leave a donation of any size at the restaurant.

Guests have the option of making a donation or purchasing a wall icon by National Pancake Day, or by providing a cash contribution or check donation through March 31.

Wall icons can be purchased in increments of $1, $5, $10, $20, or $100. Purchases of $5 will be met with an equally valued coupon to be redeemed on a future purchase of $10 or more at participating restaurants.

National Pancake Day will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at participating IHOP locations.
