Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) was awarded a 2nd place honorable mention for its Social Media Audio Portraits Series.

The Airports Council International — North America (ACI-NA) 2019 Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Service Awards awarded FAT the award in recognition of its Audio Portraits series that highlights the unique stories of passengers travelling through the airport.

“Airports like Fresno Yosemite International Airport are going above and beyond in connecting with their passengers and amplifying their message about the airport’s essential role in their local communities,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “ACI-NA is delighted to applaud the innovative work and the talented individuals who are telling our industry’s story.”

As FAT expands, the brand is being infused in messaging supports that promote the Central Valley and its growth, and it is continuing to expand its online presence to elevate the airport’s profile on a national level to keep pace in a competitive market.

The ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Service Awards recognizes quality work and creativity within the marketing, communications and customer service field of the airport industry.

FAT was among 90 airports to participate in the awards program with more than 300 entries in 19 categories.

“To be acknowledged by industry peers nationwide for our programs designed to engage with the public demonstrates real tangible results of necessary and effective marketing, which is an important part in sustaining and growing Fresno Yosemite International Airport as a major engine of economic development and job creation,” said Kevin Meikle, director of aviation. “All resulting in increased ridership, effective promotion and a positive airport experience.”
