The City of Fresno will be taking a softer approach in dealing with first-time parking offenders in Downtown Fresno.
Starting this weekend, parking enforcement will issue warning notices for first-time parking stall and meter offenders instead of issuing fines.
Notices will be placed on cars for first violations listing the three ways motorists can pay for parking in Downtown Fresno. These include at parking meters, the ParkMobile app or at kiosks.
The parking notice will also feature a list of 50 Downtown Fresno businesses with locations on a map.
Normal parking violation fines will be issued after the first offense.
The move comes after downtown businesses have noticed an uptick in parking enforcement.
