A Southern California fabricator is finding a new home in Madera.

AG Machining out of Moorpark is occupying 157,000 square feet of warehouse space creating data cabinets and other equipment for servers with companies such as Wells Fargo, Google, Facebook, Walmart, Costco and more, according to the company’s website.

In addition to the 30 workers they are bringing up from where they were previously located in Moorpark, Bobby Kahn, executive director of the Madera County Economic Development Corporation, said they will likely hire another 30 to 35 people locally.

Ethan Smith with Newmark Pearson Commercial in Fresno and John Ochoa with Oxnard-based Lee & Associates represented the buyer. Chad McCardell with Colliers International in Fresno and Niniv Tamimi from Tamimi Real Estate and Development in Modesto represented the seller.

Kahn described the outfit as “another American success story.” President Angel Garcia came from Mexico before launching the company in 1984 in his garage. He expanded to a building in Simi Valley and then to the Moorpark facility. His sons, twin brothers Eddie and Bryan, began working for him when Kahn said they began “expanding like crazy,” doing a lot of business with Silicon Valley tech companies.

Eddie and Bryan both serve as vice presidents.

The family had been looking to get out of Southern California when they found the location in Madera.

They purchased the facility that comes with an additional five-to-seven acres, allowing them to expand if need be.

“We’re excited for them, they’re bringing a lot of employees with them,” Kahn said.

Kahn said the building is move-in ready for the most part, but they will have to work with Pacific Gas & Electric to get the power up and running.

The building was originally built and occupied by Regency Thermographers, a printing company. But when the Great Recession hit, the company consolidated the Madera and Visalia plants, closing the one in Madera. Following that, it was occupied by Rain Creek Bakery for about 10 years.

They won’t be changing the footprint and because they are in a hurry, Kahn said they should be moving in in the next couple months.

Kahn said it’s nice to see family organizations because of how involved they get in the community.

“We’re anxious to have them here in Madera, they’re hard workers and genuinely nice people,” Kahn said. “We’re going to welcome them to Madera, they’ll be a real asset.”
