Catching a game at the Save Mart Center has never been as comfortable as it’s about to get with the introduction of the NUTRL Zone at Fresno State basketball games this winter.

Debuting the final week of the volleyball season this year, the NUTRL Zone will be open for all men’s and women’s basketball games at the Save Mart Center, including Wednesday evening’s match against University of San Francisco Dons.

Sponsored by NUTRL Vodka Seltzer, the NUTRL Zone offers couches, coffee tables and TV screens — and is free to all fans with the purchase of a game ticket.

A similar concept was introduced at Valley Children’s Stadium several years ago in the Lexus EndZone Club.

Valley Children’s Stadium — home to Bulldog football —  also hosts its own NUTRL Zone, located outside the stadium in the White Lot.

The NUTRL Zone hopes to increase fan interaction and entertainment, aiming to draw prospective fans through new interactive experiences.

“As it relates to the business of college athletics, we work in the entertainment industry,” said Senior Associate Athletics Director and External Relations Manager Frank Pucher. “With that, we’ve desired to incorporate more social areas at our events, where groups of fans can congregate together and enjoy the social aspect of games.”

With room for up to 150 patrons, the NUTRL Zone is customizable with movable furniture, allowing for additional or less space if needed.

“There are desires to add even more of these types of social and premium offerings at Valley Children’s Stadium as well as with sports like baseball and softball,” Pucher said, adding that significant investment would be necessary for such amenities.

Concessions at the NUTRL Zone are controlled through the Save Mart Center’s concessionaire, Savor. Pricing at the NUTRL Zone will be consistent with the rest of the arena, however, Pucher adds that the premium seating and viewing experience make the NUTRL Zone unique.

Wednesday’s game begins at 7 p.m. All high school students get in free.
