After opening to waves of crowds fighting the summer heat last June, Northwest Fresno restaurant Flippin Dave’s quietly closed its doors last month, evidently for good.
The restaurant sold a variety of smash burgers made by flattening, or “smashing” a cooking burger patty to create a “crispier” exterior. They also offered a variety of loaded french fries.
Known for its quick service, simple menu and uniquely decorated interior, the restaurant developed a large following leading up to its Summer 2022 opening.
Several customers took to Yelp helping to confirm the restaurant’s closure.
“So sad this burger joint is permanently closed as of March 2023,” reads one post. “The walls in the restaurant were very lively, colorful, and they represented the place very well.”
The store, located at 4434 W. Shaw Ave., did not announce its closure and even still has a help wanted sign posted to its front door.
The store’s website is also inaccessible and calls to the phone number provided on the help wanted sign were not returned.
