The Walmart Neighborhood Market location at Cedar and Shields avenues in Fresno unveiled new renovations Friday with a ribbon cutting and celebration.

Renovations including expanded online pickup and delivery capability, new paint and signage, four new self-checkout stations, a new immunization room to offer health care services to customers, repaved parking lot and new landscaping.

“Our focus has been on enhancing the shopping experience for our customers, making it more convenient and efficient,” said store Manager Carlos Rodriguez. “The store now has a fresh and modern look, and we’re excited to see how our customers will respond to these positive changes.”

Walmart Neighborhood Market is the megaretailer’s smaller-format store. The renovated location at 41,000 square feet opened in 2015, located on the site of the former Cedar Lanes bowling alley. Cedar Lanes opened in 1959 and was demolished in 2012.

As part of the celebration, the store donated $5,000 to Rapha Christian Counseling Center and $1,000 to Muddyeyes, a Fresno nonprofit that serves families living in motels along Motel Row.
