A Fresno law firm will see its list of services expand with the addition of three new attorneys — two of whom have joined as partners.

The firm, Whitney, Thompson & Jeffcoach (WTJ), brought on Carl R. Refuerzo, Courtney McKeever and Anna Barcus Allen last week, with Refuerzo and McKeever receiving partnership status.

According to Tim Thompson, partner for Whitney, Thompson & Jeffcoach, the firm had been in talks with them for the past few months. Primarily dealing in business litigation, Thompson explained that the three attorneys (coming from Baker, Manock & Jensen) add their expertise in business transactional work to the WTJ portfolio. This means a broader scope of service for clients.

“What adding Carl, Courtney and Anna does for us is it gives us a transactional practice, as well helping our existing clients,” Thompson said. “And also, they’ve brought in clients that they’ll continue to service on transactional business matters.”

The firm was founded in February 2018 by Thompson, Marshall Whitney, Mandy Jeffcoach and Niki Cunningham, all four of whom where previously partners at McCormick Barstow. Their clients include family-owned businesses, Fortune 500 companies, accountants, lawyers, physicians, landowners and other professionals.

Since starting, WTJ also been able to expand their services to mediation with the addition of retired Justice James A. Ardaiz, who previously served on the Fifth District Court of Appeal.
