A Fresno-based health benefits administrator will officially be changing its name over the weekend.
ChiroMetrics will become PhysMetrics as of July 1. “The name change more accurately reflects the range of benefit areas the firm now manages for self-insured organizations,” according to a news release.
PhysMetrics oversees every aspect of benefit administration — from customer service to utilization management to claims processing and payment – for acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services.
When the firm was established in 2007, ChiroMetrics focused on chiropractic and acupuncture benefits management.
The name change follows nearly a year of administration of physical therapy benefits and is supported by PhysMetrics’ medical director, who has 20 years of experience managing these treatment areas for a national carrier.
PhysMetrics President and CEO Jeremy Oswald notes that the staff at the firm, its online platform and its mission remain the same.
“It’s exciting because we’re offering customers even more opportunities to efficiently manage benefits,” he said in a statement. “While not a huge piece of companies’ overall medical spend, efficient management of these benefits areas can make a huge financial difference for self-insured organizations.”
