The Fresno Football Club has released the schedule for its inaugural season.

The Foxes will make their official debut in the United Soccer League at home on March 17 against the Las Vegas Lights FC. The team will play 34 regular season matches in total — about half at Chukchansi Park and the rest on the road.

Los Zorros, as they are also known, will face each team twice—once at home and once on the road—with the exception of three matches each against the Real Monarchs of Salt Lake City and the Sacramento Republic.

Playing for their inaugural season are 16 players that head coach Adam Smith and general manager Frank Yallop gleaned from teams both near and far.

“On the field, our head coach Adam Smith and general manager Frank Yallop have done a fabulous job building a roster of seasoned pros and young up-and-comers that will work hard and play with heart for our crest,” owner Ray Beshoff said.

The club brought over three former Fuego players for one-year contracts — goalkeeper Agustin Rey, midfielder Jose “Chiva” Cuevas and forward Renato Bustamante, pending league approval.

The three players spent the past two seasons with the Fresno Fuego, which played in the Premier Development League. The Fresno Fuego made consecutive postseason appearances with the three players, including a Western Conference finals appearance in 2017, according to a press release from the Fresno FC.

In addition to homegrown talent, the Foxes have enlisted help from abroad, bringing over winger Jemal Johnson who played for several European clubs between 2004-2012. He then moved to the North American Soccer League and played most recently for the Jacksonville Armada FC.

Beshoff addressed fans concerning the upcoming season, saying:

“I can promise that every time we take the field we will wear our crest proudly, and not just as a representation of Fresno, but the entire San Joaquin Valley. We’re committed to winning, and eager to see what victories can be had in 2018. Let’s rally together, Fresno, because we’re on the verge of something special.”

Season tickets are now available at FresnoFC.com or by calling the club’s sales office at 559-320-2525.
