The Fresno Chamber of Commerce today honored Matty Matoian of OK Produce with the Leon S. Peters Award.

The Chamber reported a full house for the Valley Business Awards Luncheon at the Fresno Convention Center New Exhibit Hall Wednesday.

Matoian was the second-generation family executive of OK Produce, a fresh fruits and vegetable distributor founded by his father in 1950. Matoian retired in 2008, but continues a long career of philanthropy.

Milano Restaurants International was the recipient of the Harold Zinkin Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Milano is the franchising body for restaurant brands including Me-n-Ed’s, Blast & Brew and Piazza Del Pane.

Lanna Coffee Co. won the Rising Star of the year Award. Based in Downtown Fresno, Lanna Coffee roasts and distributes ethically-sourced coffee.

Gladys Sanchez of Tony’s Coconut Fusion won the Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Tony’s Coconut Fusion is a food truck that serves its dishes in coconut shells.
