A Fresno bakery is teaming up with California dairies to offer free food on Jan. 6.

Saavedra’s Bakery and the California Milk Processor Board will be giving out a free slice of Rosca de Reyes bread along with an Atole de Maseca drink that day.

Rosca de Reyes, or “Three Kings Bread,” is a ring-shaped cake pastry meant to symbolize a king’s crown. It’s traditionally served on “El Dia de los Reyes Magos,” or Three Kings Day — Jan. 6 — when the three Magi visited Jesus Christ 12 days after his birth.

Atole de Maseca is a warm milk-based drink.

Opened in 2011, Saavedra’s Bakery is located at 3767 N. Hughes in Fresno. People can receive their free slice of cake and drink from 10 a.m. to noon.
