It’ll be a battle of the locally produced nogs this Easter.

Starting April 5, Fresno-based milk processor Producers Dairy will for the first time offer egg nog in stores across California for the Easter holiday.

Egg nog, sometimes called “milk punch” traditionally consists of milk and eggs, both of which Producers Dairy processes.

“Egg nog is a traditional holiday beverage with ingredients [that] include eggs, cream, milk, sugar and spices. We have been using our family recipe for Producers Egg Nog since the very beginning,” but the product was made only during the holiday season, states a company press release.

“It made sense to not just hunt for eggs this Easter, but also for our new Easter Egg Nog. We’re delighted to take our long time family recipe out for a limited time this Easter holiday,” the release said.

Not to be outdone, Rosa Brothers Milk Co. announced Wednesday that its all-natural “Easter Eggnog” is currently in stores, making its debut last spring.

“We are excited to offer our customers our fresh Easter Eggnog again this year. It is a delicious way to celebrate Spring,” said Noel Rosa, president of Rosa Brothers Milk Company. “There really is nothing like it”
