Eateries are not leaving space along Downtown Fresno’s Kern Street vacant for long these days.

GG’s Food Factory will be moving into the former Tree of Life space at 2139 Kern St, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Signage has also been posted inside the space.

While no one at GG’s Food Factory was ready to talk about the move, the restaurant’s Facebook page said it would open by the end of the month, and that they are hiring all positions, including cooks, customer service, cashiers and an assistant manager.

GG’s serves North American fare including hamburgers and burritos along with Mediterranean-style cuisine. It appears to operate in a food truck, with an address listed at 2701 E. Jensen Ave. in Fresno.

This marks the second vacancy filled at the corner of Kern and L streets in the Hotel Virginia, where Tree of Life Cafe and Charburger once operated. Both restaurants came onto the scene following the Downtown Fresno Partnership’s Create Here campaign. They were both finalists.

Tree of Life moved to Blackstone and Herndon avenues in October 2018 and Charburger closed last month. Box Car Cafe opened two weeks ago on the corner occupied by Charburger, and the Food Factory will fill the larger spot next door.
