First 5 Fresno County has announced its winners for the 2019 Child-Friendly Business Awards for their support of employees with children

This year, awards went to: Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Fresno and Madera Counties, Denham Resources, Facility Designs, Fresno Barrios Unidos and TFS Investments.

In total, 36 employees submitted nominations on behalf of 19 employers, touting their child-friendly work environments and family friendly policies. The top five employers, who were selected by a committee of community reviewers, were announced at Wednesday’s awards ceremony at the Lighthouse for Children.

“Our hope is that by honoring local employers that go above and beyond to support families, child-friendly business practices will continue to spread across Fresno County,” said Emilia Reyes, First 5 Fresno County executive director. “Child-friendly business practices also comes with many benefits for the employers, like empowering committed workers, building loyalty, motivating employees, realizing greater recruitment results and increasing their bottom line.”

Since 2006, First 5 Fresno County has awarded exactly 63 Fresno County businesses and organizations that go above and beyond in their support to parent employees.
