Fresno’s Firehouse Subs wants to help local first responders beat the summer heat.
To keep our heroes hydrated, the sandwich shop is hosting its fifth annual H2O for Heroes bottled water drive this Saturday. Guests who bring an unopened 24-pack of bottled water to Firehouse Subs located at 128 W. Nees in Fresno will receive a medium-sized sub for free.
The donated water will be distributed to local fire departments, and first responder agencies, as well as community centers that aid children, the elderly and those in need of water when the temperatures hit the triple digits and dehydration and other heat-related illnesses are most threatening.
The H2O for Heroes drive is a nationwide effort by Firehouse Subs and it’s parent company Firehouse of America, LLC. CEO Don Fox said it is important to give back to the heroes who make sacrifices for their community each day.
“First responder support is an integral part of our brand heritage and mission statement, and it is an effort we consistently work to maintain and build up,” Fox said in a statement. “I’m proud that for the first time in our brand’s history, this program is now a national initiative for all communities to participate in.”
