The Meat Up — a family-owned butcher shop that began in 1954 as King-O-Meat and was reborn in 2020 by shop owner Steven and Cassi Maxey — has expanded, opening its second location today.
The third-generation butchering operation offer freshly cut protein, as well as breakfast and lunch options for customers looking to cook at home or grab something on the go. The new location next to Saizon, one of Fresno’s most popular restaurants, hopes to have its made-to-order meals up and running by the end of the week.
The store is located at The Row at Heritage Grove at northwest corner of Shepherd and Willow avenues
“That’s right, now we have two locations where you can find the highest quality proteins and awesome sandwiches and breakfast burritos,” the company said in an Instagram post Sunday.
The Meat Up opened its Northwest Fresno location in 2020 during the pandemic. The Meat Up is the second retail storefront of Certified Meat Products, a commercial food vendor to restaurants and grocery stores.
