A longtime Fresno car dealership is changing hands following its acquisition by a rapidly expanding Southern California auto group.
In business in Downtown Fresno since 1945, Haron Jaguar Land Rover has been sold to Unstoppable Automotive Group in Temecula. The three-generation family business is closely associated with the Jaguar and Land Rover brand in the Central Valley, airing television commercials during the Super Bowl.
A Volvo dealership was added to the mix in 2019, as well as a sleek new showroom that more than tripled the space of the previous facility.
Jim Haron, son of founder Charles Haron, owned the dealership along with his daughter Hilary Haron and nephew Randy Haron.
News of the transaction has circulated through the community for a few weeks, with indications of a complete sale and dealer authorization on social media and the Unstoppable Automotive Group website. Efforts to reach Randy Haron and Unstoppable Automotive Group officials for comment were unsuccessful.
In August, Unstoppable Automotive Group acquired Mercedes-Benz of Monterey, adding to their six existing dealerships in Southern California. In addition to Mercedes-Benz, Unstoppable’s brands include Audi, Volvo and Polestar, the electric vehicle brand owned by Volvo.
In addition to being loyal to the Jaguar brand, Haron has also been a stalwart supporter of Downtown Fresno — electing to remain where it was originally founded instead of moving to Palm and Herndon avenues near Fresno’s other luxury dealerships.
Downtown has also been prominently featured in Haron ads aired locally during the Super Bowl in past years.
Unstoppable Automotive Group was founded in 2021 by South African native Garth Blumenthal, previously a longtime general manager of Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach.
Haron is the second Fresno luxury auto dealership to be sold in the last year. In December 2022, Scott Biehl sold Mercedes-Benz of Fresno to Toronto-based Alpha Auto Group.
