Stan Carrizosa, who has served as president of College of the Sequoias since 2012, has announced plans to retire as the end of the school year in June 2018.

Upon Carrizosa’s retirement, he will have 34 years in public education including 24 years as a superintendent/president.

He had previously served for seven years as superintendent of Dinuba Unified School District and ten years as superintendent of Visalia Unified School District.

The COS board of trustees has enlisted the services of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), a national search firm, that will guide the process of finding a new top administrator.

The board hopes to name a successor by December.
