Jeremy Scott Danielson, 35, of Clovis, pleaded guilty today to striking a California Highway Patrol plane with a green laser beam.

Danielson tracked and struck the CHP plane, Air 43, 18 to 20 times with the powerful laser pointer in 2014, including once when it was taking off from Fresno Yosemite International Airport, resulting in the pilot suffering flash blindness.

Danielson is scheduled for sentencing before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill on May 31. He faces a maximum prison term of five years and a fine of up to $250,000.
