Mother Mary’s Italian Kitchen will be closing its doors after the Valentine’s Day holiday.

The Clovis eatery known for scratch-made Italian fare is owned and operated by the Ruggiero family.

The family patriarch, Len, passed away last summer and though the Ruggiero’s wanted to carry on the business, the feat proved too great, according to a social media post.

“Our entire staff have worked diligently to try and save our dad, Len’s, legacy, but our efforts have been unsuccessful in the face of overhead,” an announcement made Friday on the restaurant’s Facebook page read.

“All attempts to save our business by renegotiating our rent or having our ventilation system repaired have failed. We would love for you to join us through Valentine’s Day, as we liquidate our inventory of food and drinks…Please come by an raise a glass to my dad and say goodbye.”
