(AP) — California’s secretary of state is expected to certify the results of the June primary election, when an estimated 8.5 million people, or 47.6 percent of registered voters, took part.

That practically ties the lowest turnout rate for a California primary without an incumbent president in the last quarter century. That was 47.5 percent in 1992.

Preliminary data show few results changed in the weeks of vote-counting following the June 7 election. The final report due Friday will finalize outcomes and provide additional demographic information.

Hillary Clinton maintained her 53-to-46 percent win over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.

In the Republican presidential primary, Donald Trump won nearly 75 percent of California GOP votes.

The June primary set up an intraparty battle between Democratic Attorney General Kamala Harris and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
