Joe Verduzco, The Business Journal’s production manager, has been chosen as the winner of the Fresno Arts Council’s 2018 Arthop Logo Design Contest.

A total of 35 prospective logos were submitted for the contest, which was held for the first time by the organization that puts on Fresno’s Arthop events on the first and third Thursday of each month.

The Fresno Arts Council board of directors chose the winning design, which was unveiled at the council’s office during Thursday night’s Arthop festivities.

Starting in 2018, Verduzco’s logo will be used on the Fresno Arts Council website, social media, brochures and window clings that will be placed at participating Arthop venues around Downtown Fresno, the Tower District and outlying areas.

“It’s an honor to be the first winner of the Fresno Arts Council Arthop Logo Contest,” Verduzco said. “A huge thank you for the opportunity. It’s a great way to get the art community involved.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing the logo put to use,” he added.

Verduzco also won a $500 cash prize as well as certificate of achievement from the office of Rep. Jim Costa.
