Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, families are home now more often than ever. Working parents forced to leave their kids at home due to distance learning are growing concerned for their children’s safety. At AmeriGuard Security, we witness this first hand. Many of our security officers respond to calls where kids are at home alone and parents see strange activity or an unknown car in front of their house while at work. The truth is, crime is increasing in the United States and more specifically, in our Fresno community. According to the Fresno Chief of Police, shootings have increased by 126% and murders rose 55% since zero-dollar bail and early release went into effect in April.

Unfortunately in these current times, many working parents have to leave their children at home or business owners have to leave their business unattended. While these things can sometimes be unavoidable, we always recommend investing in an alarm and camera system to provide extra security for your family or business. Years ago, camera and alarm systems were a luxury item — now they are essential to provide peace of mind.

When researching security systems, a few of the key features you should look for are motion activation, smartphone alerts, high-definition video resolution and remote viewing. For added peace of mind, find a company that provides security officers that are patrolling and can respond in case of an emergency.

With the holidays right around the corner, it is the season for stealing packages. Adding a doorbell camera can be a great addition to scare off “porch pirates.” You can also add to the notes section of the delivery to have them drop it behind your gate or pillar so it is not visible to anyone walking by.

This new normal we are living in is a scary time. Being able to watch over the people and things that matter most to you are priceless. This new normal has caused an increase in the need for security guard officers across the country. Our officers patrol 24-7 while waiting for an alarm activation, which then causes our computer system to choose the closest patrol officer to divert from their original destination and immediately respond. This increase in alarm response activations and calls has also created a substantial need for security officers.
