The Big Fresno Fair is now accepting nominations for two of its most prestigious recognition programs — The Big Fresno Fair Hall of Fame, which is in its 10th year, and The Big Fresno Fair Community Champions Awards, now in its 9th year.

The Big Fresno Fair Hall of Fame honors individuals who have demonstrated long-time continued support and extraordinary passion for the betterment of the annual Big Fresno Fair.

The Hall of Fame honors those who have been involved with The Big Fresno Fair, whether as a long-standing exhibitor, a previous employee, volunteer or community proponent and supporter.

Since its inception in 2007, there have been 42 individuals inducted into the Fair’s Hall of Fame. The 2015 Hall of Fame inductees included Electric Motor Shop, the Frank and Florence Caglia Family and Mike Kludjian.

Nomination forms are available at www.FresnoFair.com/hall-fame.

The Big Fresno Fair’s Community Champions Awards formally recognizes individuals who have demonstrated an extraordinary passion for the betterment of Fresno County.

Awards are given in four categories: Youth, Volunteer, Humanitarian, Educator and a Special Award, if appropriate.

Since its inception in 2008, a total of 37 individuals have been recognized as community champions. The winners of The Big Fresno Fair Community Champions Awards in 2015 were Captain Dwaine and Deborah Breazeale — Community Champion, Volunteer; George Milutinovich — Community Champion, Humanitarian; Jim and Jennifer Yovino — Community Champion, Educator; and Captain Pete Dern — Community Champion, Special Award.

Nomination forms for community champions are available at www.FresnoFair.com/community-champions.

The deadline for nomination award submissions is Aug. 15. There is no limit on the number of nominations an individual or organization can make.

Nominations will be reviewed by The Big Fresno Fair board at their August Board meeting. At that time the Fair Board will vote on Hall of Fame inductees and Community Champions Award winners. Award winners will be formally announced and recognized at this year’s Opening Ceremonies on October 5.
