Selma-based Bennett West LLC announced an equity partnership with Coastal Growers Supply Inc., expanding its agricultural products and services across California.
The partnership brings together Bennett’s water, plant health and energy solutions with Coastal Growers Supply’s liquid fertilizer blending, chemical distribution, chemical application and specialty crop agronomy services, according to a news release.
The Oxnard-based Coastal Growers Supply serves berry, leafy green and specialty crop growers across coastal California. The company provides fertilizers, crop protection chemicals, tools and equipment, as well as crop advisory services focused on soil health, pest management, yields and efficiency.
Sharing deep roots in California ag
“Our companies share deep roots in California agriculture and a strong understanding of the unique challenges growers face across the state,” said Tyler Bennett, CEO of Bennett. “We also share a commitment to being a trusted partner to our customers, and we look forward to building on that foundation together.”
Samir Shah, president of Bennett, said the partnership creates opportunities to serve customers across both businesses and combine their expertise.
Bennett was founded in 1929 and is led by fourth-generation CEO Tyler Bennett. The company has locations in the Central Valley and Hawaii.
Coastal Growers Supply is led by Darren Huebner. The company has built its business around grower relationships, technical expertise and agricultural services, according to the companies.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Partnerships ended, made
Last year, Bennett split from Reedley crop care and nutritional advisor Gar Tootelian, undoing a merger formed in 2020. Bennett said it was a cordial separation that left the two companies able to pursue different business strategies.
In January, Bennett announced a new strategic partnership with Madera Pump, joining the Madera-based business’s expertise in flow control with Bennett’s irrigation, plant health and energy solutions.
