Community Regional Medical Center has announced a $1.65 million gift supporting pediatrics and the emergency department in downtown Fresno.

The donation was made by an anonymous donor who shared that their family received excellent care at CRMC’s facilities, and that care prompted the donor to give back to the hospital.

“This transformational gift will upgrade nine pediatric patient rooms at Community Regional with colorful designs, a new nutrition space and an upgraded playroom in the 5C pediatric unit,” said Katie Zenovich, Chief Fund Development Officer and Senior Vice President of Development and External Affairs.

“This donation will give our pediatric patients a more comfortable, kid-friendly environment,” Zenovich added.

According to Zenovich, a majority of the gift will be committed to securing a second CT machine for the emergency department, as well as building the necessary space to house it at the hospital.

“On average, 75% of the patients who need a CT come from the emergency department,” Zenovich said. “This new machine addresses a critical need, increasing access to a vital diagnostic tool which will help us provide better service to our patients,” she said.

Zenovich said the donors’ gift honors caregivers and thanks them for the differences they make every day in patients’ lives.
