Education: After four years of college, I spent thousands of hours on self-education, seminars and personal mentors, such as Tom Hopkins, Jay Abraham, Robert G. Allen

Age: 53

Family: Married to Sharon Rassamni since 1992. We have two boys: Mark, 21, a student at San Diego State University majoring in computer science. Alex, 19, a student at Cal State Monterey Bay majoring in marketing and finance

What led you to your business, Rassamni?
Car Wash: When I first came to California, I started working in a car wash and I fell in love with the business so I set my goal to own it within ten years, which I did ten years later. Luckily I didn’t have any friends to tell me that was impossible. I’ve been in the car wash industry ever since. When people ask me, “What do you do for living?,” I respond that I never worked a day in my life because I love what I do and I don’t consider it work.

Technology: Today’s technology is moving forward rapidly and we must keep up with consumer demands. It’s hard for small businesses to make it and we can’t afford the big expenses that corporate America can handle. So I want to help the small business owner succeed and have access to the marketing tools available to Fortune 500 companies at a very affordable investment for small businesses.

Author: Since 1989, I have committed myself to learning the secrets of business success from all the books I have read and all the mentors that taught me.  I have taken all the knowledge and documented everything for the past 30 years. I have simplified it and created a system for business owners and entrepreneurs to follow in order to succeed in business.

What’s the story behind the mural, Rassamni?
The name of the car wash is Great American Car Wash. There was a blank wall along the car wash property. I envisioned something memorable and totally different than anywhere else.  One day I approached my friend the late Bill Dietzel, retired Air Force veteran, with the idea to create a mural to honor Fresno’s war heroes who were still active in the community after they retired. The wall escalated from one square of military honor to the September 11 Memorial recognizing local heroes, to the Last Watch of the Fresno Police Department. It is still a work in progress with our next mural to include the Fresno County Fire Department.

What has been the reaction to your Facebook posts featuring people who steal from your business, Rassamni?

The number of likes and the number of shares speak for itself. Almost every post has over 1,000 likes. We also posted mug shots of these people at the car wash for everyone to see it. In today’s social media frenzy, don’t do anything if you don’t want it published. Whatever you do today expect it to be on social media. There are always consequences for your actions.

Tell us a little about your book.
The Gain the Unfair Advantage book has over 400 strategies that are easy to implement to help increase the number of customers, dollar per transaction and frequency of visits. The book also talks about how to build a strong foundation that all staff members share the same common sense of value, beliefs and goals to exceed customers’ expectations and wow them every step of the way.

Where do you see Great American Carwash in 10 years, Rassamni?
With minimum wage and expenses going up year after year we will, like any other company that wants to grow and strive, automate to eliminate labor so we can sustain the expenses and continue serving our clients

Where do you see My Loyalty Apps in 10 years, Rassamni?
I believe every company today should think how could they take their business from local to global.  In ten years from today, My Loyalty apps should be a nationwide business and we may take it public.

What advice do you have for budding entrepreneurs, Rassamni?
The most important is to have a vision and conviction with hard work and persistence it is very achievable.  If you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it. Once you have the vision, there are three principles that must be followed.
Read self-improvement and business books every day. Write all the ideas down then implement what you just learned. Knowledge is not power, it is only potential power. Knowledge becomes power when you put it into action.
Drop all your friends that are in your situation today and find new friends that already achieved way beyond your dreams and goals. Your old friends will hold you back; your new friends will pull you toward success. Once all your friends are successful entrepreneurs, your subconscious mind will be uncomfortable where you are and it will help you succeed.
Find a mentor, take them for lunch and ask them to learn their recipe of success. Ask them what is the price they had to pay to succeed. How many hours they had to work, how did it affect their family life? What they had to give up… then ask yourself are you willing to pay the price?

What was the best advice you ever received, Rassamni?
Love what you do and fall in love with everyone you serve.

What are your roots in the Central Valley?
I purchased my car wash business in Fresno in 2007, and moved here from Southern California. What I love about Fresno it is a big city yet it feels like a small town.

What was your very first job and what did you learn from it?
My very first job was working at a car wash since then I fell in love with the business and I am still learning from it every day.

What do you like to do in your spare time, Rassamni?
Spending quality time with my wife and sons is the most important thing for me. That is why I only owned one car wash at a time.
Since 1989 I stopped listening to music in my car and instead I listen to audiobooks, I love to read and learn something new every day. I take every idea I learn and ask myself how can I use the idea and benefit from it.
I love to teach and help others the secrets of success that is why I have a few entrepreneur students that I mentor every week on a webinar.
