Valley Children’s Healthcare announced Tuesday the launch of The Pulse, a digital news site featuring community stories as well as information from beyond the Central Valley regarding children’s health care.
Delivering original reporting, video storytelling and behind-the-scenes looks highlighting the Valley Children’s Community, the site will aim to highlight the hospital as a national leader in pediatric care, as well as share information about children’s health care and promote health in the Valley and beyond, according to a news release.
“In a world where information moves fast and trust matters more than ever, The Pulse gives us a chance to slow down and tell stories that truly make a difference,” said Valley Children’s Managing Editor Brandon Johansen. “We’re not just reporting, we’re connecting. It is an honor to focus on the kids and families we serve.”
The Pulse will offer deep context and comprehensive information about pediatric health care, and will work to support and enhance the work of local journalists in the region, elevating conversations about children’s health and well-being.
The Pulse will also help families share their own pediatric health care stories.
Featuring five key pillars — pediatric health news, innovation, community impact, expert voices and programs — the outlet aims to link community involvement with experts in the field in order to share and promote children’s health.
“The Pulse is a news site that informs and listens,” Johansen said. “By inviting our community to share story ideas – particularly those centered on kids’ health and wellness – we will ensure their voices, experiences and perspectives are reflected in the stories we tell. It is one more way Valley Children’s is furthering our commitment to the health of kids in the Central Valley.”
