WestCare California received a $15,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation to build a park and playground for the families of female veterans in Fresno.

Approximately 70 Home Depot volunteers will begin construction on the park on Thursday at the HomeFront facility.

The park will be built at 3636 Eugenia Ave., near the intersection of Church and Orange avenues in south Fresno.

HomeFront was created in 2008 and assists female veterans and their families and can provide temporary housing for as many as two years.
