A forklift dealership with a presence in the Central Valley has been acquired.

Forklifts Group, a material handing distributor based in Columbus, Ohio, has announced the acquisition of Cromer Material Handling, which has a dealership in Fresno, as well as Doosan Material Handling Solutions of Southern California.

In 2021, Cromer Material Handling transferred to a new Fresno office at 6131 S. Lincoln Ct. in south Fresno. The facility is 17,900 square feet and was the first ground-up construction for a Cromer facility.

Forklifts Group has more than four decades of experience in equipment, parts, service and rental capabilities. They distribute products and equipment from major original equipment manufacturers including Bobcat and Linde. Well-established on the East Coast, Forklifts Group is looking to expand its footprint across the West.

Existing Cromer Material Handling and Doosan Material Handling Solutions dealerships in Fresno, Sacramento, Manteca, Bakersfield, San Diego, Santa Maria, Los Angeles and Las Vegas will operate under the supervision of Brent Poulton, Forklifts Group president on the West Coast.

According to news release, Poulton will focus efforts on bringing new products and service capabilities to its existing markets while partnering with East Coast operations to service national accounts.

Joining an organization with an excellent reputation in the material handling industry will allow us to see immediate benefits and strengthen our position as a leader in this industry while executing an aggressive growth strategy through national expansion,” Poulton said.

The branding transition is expected to be complete in early April and will be reflected in company communications and branding material, according to the release.
