A Fresno cannabis dispensary will be giving away free products to support military vets for Veteran’s Day this Saturday.

Embarc Fresno is partnering with the Weed for Warriors Project to provide veterans with medicinal marijuana resources, including a free bag of products including cannabis flower, edibles, concentrates and more.

Participating veterans will also receive a 20% discount Saturday and assisted on-site registration for a medical marijuana card.

The Weed For Warriors Project advocates to the Veteran Affairs Administration on behalf of all veterans.

The WFW Project started in 2014 with a goal to allow veterans the freedom to use medical marijuana as a recognized medical alternative to harmful drugs such as opioids.

According to the National Library of Medicine, US. veterans have been heavily impacted by the opioid crisis, with drug overdose mortality rates increasing by 53% from 2010-2019.

To qualify, veterans must bring a hard copy of proof of service, provide a valid state-issued I.D. and a current California cannabis doctor recommendation.

Embarc Fresno is located at 4592 N. Blackstone Ave. and will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, providing free bags until supplies last.
