Visalia’s Darling Hotel is now under the management of Charlestowne Hotels, a hospitality company based out of Charleston, South Carolina.
Charlestowne Hotels is a leading hospitality management company specializing in boutique properties with a portfolio of more than 50 hotels across the country. Charlestowne operates some of the country’s most award-winning properties that top the “best hotels” lists by Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, USA Today and TripAdvisor, according to a news release.
“We never tire of the excitement that comes with meeting new owners and supporting them as they evolve the visions for their properties,” said Kyle Hughey, CEO of Charlestowne Hotels. “The Darling’s historic ties and architecture transports guests back to California’s Art Deco period…we’re looking forward to elevating these experiences through new operational and revenue programs, technology partnerships, and strategic guest marketing.”
Bob Ainley, a member of the Darling Hotel ownership team, shares Hughey’s excitement for the partnership.
“Being able to provide our staff world-class training and support has always been our intention,” Ainley said. “With Charlestowne, that becomes a reality.”
The Darling Hotel opened in 2020 and has been self-managed under the leadership of general manager Michael Seaward, who oversees the rooftop hotel and restaurant, Elderwood.
The Darling already proven an innovator among local hotels for generating revenue, hosting a series of poolside parties over the summer and sold-out murder mystery events.
