National houseware goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond is closing more than 140 locations this year, including its Visalia store, leaving Central Valley residents with only three locations between Sacramento and Bakersfield.
The retailer posted a list this week of 141 stores, including 12 California locations (10 Bed Bath & Beyond, and two Southern California Harmon stores) that are on the chopping block.
The Visalia store is located at 3125 S. Mooney Blvd.
The company shuttered an additional 126 stores in 2022, a year which saw the national retailer’s stock price fall from $14.58 in 2021 to $2.51 to 2022.
Included in the list were 49 Harmon stores and five Buy Buy Baby stores, both of which fall under the Bed Bath & Beyond umbrella.
“Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close our Harmon stores,” read a notification on Bed Bath & Beyond’s website. “Thank you to all of our loyal fans and customers.”
Bed Bath & Beyond has not released an official closing date for the store, but an email from the company said the store will be closing in the coming months.
Fresno’s Bed Bath & Beyond and Buy Buy Baby stores were not listed for closure.
