Verizon activated three new macro cellular sites in Fresno, bringing high-speed internet service to residents and visitors in South Sunnyside, Shields Avenue near the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport and south of Highway 180 and Chestnut Avenue.

The towers, which provide large areas of coverage, deliver 4G and high-speed 5G Ultra Wideband, boosting connection speeds and accessibility in the surrounding areas, according to Verizon.

“Verizon is committed to delivering the most reliable network experience and meeting customers’ connectivity needs where they live, work, and play,” said Jake Hamilton, VP of engineering and operations at Verizon. “By deploying this new capacity, we are providing more opportunities for our customers in the Fresno area to utilize Verizon’s best-in-class network to connect with families, friends, homes and businesses.”

The activation of the sites is part of Verizon’s multi-year, nationwide network transformation which adds more capabilities, upgraded network technology and personalized customer experiences, providing a platform for businesses and developers to attract customers and further business and economic growth in the Valley.

More information about Verizon’s multi-year transformation plan can be found at the company’s website.
