Valley Children’s Hospital announced the impending release of a new original song — “This is our Castle” — that will be featured in an upcoming music video featuring hospital staff, patients and families from throughout the Valley.
Written by Jasmanny Castaneda, a member of the hospital’s interpreter services team, the anthem looks to capture the heart, spirit and commitment that defines the hospital, drawing inspiration from the hospital’s castle-like design, creating a welcoming and comforting environment for patients, according to a news release.
A short preview was released Thursday.
“Writing ‘This Is Our Castle’ was a deeply personal experience for me,” Castaneda said. “Every day, I see the incredible dedication and love that our staff and patients bring to Valley Children’s. This song is my way of honoring their stories and the hope they bring to our community.”
The song release will line up with National Hospital Week during which hospitals and health care workers nationwide are recognized for their dedication and service.
“’This Is Our Castle’ is more than just a song; it is a heartfelt tribute to the strength and heart of our team,” said Kelly Beall, Valley Children’s senior vice president and chief people officer. “From the welcoming smiles at the front desk to the life-saving efforts of our medical staff, every verse of the song celebrates the community that makes Valley Children’s a beacon of hope.”
The music video will premiere Friday on Valley Children’s YouTube channel as well as its social media platforms. The hospital invites the community to tune in and help celebrate one of California’s largest children’s hospitals and its impact in the lives of children throughout the state.
