Valley Children’s Hospital is celebrating national recognition for its efforts to treat children in the region.
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Valley Children’s as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation for orthopedics, endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery and neonatology for 2018-19.
“What’s exciting about the rankings to us is to share it with this Valley because Valley Children’s was founded in this Valley,” said Todd Suntrapak, CEO. “And these national rankings belong to all of us in the Valley and are the culmination of 70 years of trust.”
U.S. News evaluated data from 5,000 hospitals for 16 different adult specialties, along with 10 pediatric specialties. The rankings for the hospitals are based on outcomes, processes and structures. The nurse staffing was also given a rating of “Excellent.”
“The entire network certainly shares in the award because we provided services for all these different specialties up and down the Valley,” Suntrapak said.
