Valley Children’s Healthcare and Innovation Lab will come together to host the fifth annual Pediatric Innovation Showcase this Thursday, highlighting seven companies and the tools they have developed to address challenges faced in pediatric care.
The showcase will take place online this Thursday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and will inform viewers about some of the tools caregivers will have at their disposal to work on the hospital’s smallest patients.
Driven by a passion for transforming patient care, the lineup features innovators from a range of backgrounds from radiology and blood pressure monitoring to the utilization of technology to generate 3D-printed models, according to a news release.
Check out the full list of participating companies below:
- The GiggleFIT Therapeutic Play Gym (TGP) will offer movement opportunities for children with medical complications. Its compact and portable design makes it suitable for hospitals, outpatient facilities and rehabilitation centers.
- The Kangarobe supports kangaroo care (skin-to-skin care) in the NCIE, allowing parents and newborns to bond while managing tubes and lines safely. It features easy access for nurses and secure fastening for the infant’s equipment.
- Konica Minolta’s Dynamic Digital Radiography enables up to 15 sequential radiographs per second, granting providers access to anatomy in motion with low-dose X-ray imaging.
- The Mackey Mask is an adhesive-free, waterproof solution, simplifying the process of placement and maintenance of NG (nasogastric) tubes on infants. Its design allows for easy adjustment while maintaining secure tube placement.
- PyrAmes product, Boppli, offers accurate, non-invasive, low-risk and easy-to-use solutions for monitoring of infants in critical care settings. It has been cleared by the FDA as an alternative to ipsilateral axillary lymphadenopathy and inflatable blood pressure-monitoring systems.
- Ricoh 3D for Healthcare offers patient specific 3D-printed anatomic models to enhance practices’ capabilities, serving the needs of both patients and providers while continuing focus on innovation in the medical tech industry.
- SmölTAP is used to improve success rates of infant spinal taps, using a gravity-assisted position and a pelvis-tipping seat, facilitating smoother procedures, while at the same time ensuring patient comfort and calmer experiences during lumbar procedures.
Newport Beach-based Innovation Lab is a health care incubator and network aimed at transforming health care practices. By taking market-ready medical devices and collaborating with health care industry professionals, they focus on developing commercially viable innovations to enhance patient care.
