A San Joaquin Valley-based electrical construction and engineering firm with a location in Fresno is being recognized as one of the top performers in Northern California.
Collins Electrical Company, headquartered in Stockton with locations in Fresno and Sacramento, has been named California’s 2022 Top Specialty Contractor of the Year by engineering trade publication Engineering News-Record (ENR) California.
Even with the challenges of the pandemic, the more-than-90-year-old company saw a 2021 regional revenue surge of 40% over the prior year, getting business back to pre-pandemic levels.
Because of Collins Electrical turnaround and plans to take advantage of a rebounding state economy, ENR named the company 2022’s Specialty Contractor of the Year.
Collins Electrical has been involved in groundbreaking projects including the Healdsburg “Floatovoltaic” Solar System, the largest of its kind in the world, as well as the Sonora Courthouse and the UC Davis Medical Group Roseville II Medical Office Building.
The Healdsburg project in Sonoma County is a 4.78-megawatt photovoltaic solar array that actually floats on recycled-water ponds at the town’s wastewater facility. It was completed with San Francisco-based White Pine Renewables.
The company is also active with its community outreach, helping raise $109,957 for the American Heart Association in 2021.
