U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue is making his first trip to California, which will include two stops in the Valley to meet farmers and other people in the region’s agricultural industry.
On Sunday, he’ll take part in a question-and-answer session on agricultural issues from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Modesto Junior College Ag Pavilion.
The event is free and is being sponsored by the California Farm Bureau Federation. Federation President Paul Wenger will moderate the event.
Monday morning, Perdue will take part in a private round-table discussion with local farmers at Grimmway Farm in Arvin. He will also tour other farms in the area.
