The Tulare County Emergency Food & Shelter Board has announced that it is now accepting grant applications for funding to organizations that provide emergency food and shelter.
The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) was created in 1983 to supplement and expand the work of local social service agencies, both nonprofit and governmental, in an effort to help people with economic emergencies.
EFSP funds must be used to supplement feeding, sheltering, (including transitional sheltering) and rent/mortgage and utility assistance efforts only.
EFSP applications are due by April 15 at 2 p.m. and should be submitted to United Way of Tulare County, 1601 E. Prosperity Ave., Tulare, CA 93274.
